I get this question all the time. Specifically, other moms are curious about what I do for a living and, most importantly, how I got started.

First of all, I will not say this is for everyone and everyone can do this because nothing is one size fits all. So this may not be the right fit for you.

I helped a friend recently get started, and after a few months of doing it, she said, “Hey this isn’t for me.”

She then explained that finding a babysitter is difficult, but not as difficult as being home all the time and trying to squeeze in work between taking care of her 3 children.

Let’s keep in mind that she’s been a full-time mom and caretaker for over five years, she needed and wanted to be out socializing with adults.

It’s honestly no the easiest to get started or to find a work/ life balance, but with perseverance and if it’s the right fit for you, you’ll find a way.

So let’s start with this fun fact about me, I have always wanted a work-from-home job, ALWAYS.

After being an admin assistant for over 6 years and working 40+ hours, I got pregnant.

BEST THING THAT’S EVER HAPPENED TO ME!!

I knew I didn’t want to continue this stressful job, and I ESPECIALLY didn’t want anyone raising my Child(ren) for me.

I saw my sister struggle for years with babysitters and daycares, and I was like “HECK NO, I’m going to do this mom thing, but I am going to do it MY WAY”.

I didn’t know how I was going to do it, to stay home and raise my child while helping my husband financially (We live in California, so no way we could afford for me not to work).

While pregnant, I started paying off any debt I could that would get rid of monthly payments, and saving as much as I could.

This way I was buying myself time to figure out, how I would work from home after having my baby, and all while on maternity leave.

I figured this way, I’ll work part-time if I have to.

I took my maternity leave, and once I started feeling better I found Micala Quinn’s Live Free Academy.

I was super skeptical at first, but I decided to jump on it after tons of research. I purchased the course through monthly payments and would hop on and do lessons whenever I could.

It took me about 3 months of applying on her Job leads board, until I finally got a YES. (After about 30 “no’s”)

Then I got this one client, then a month later another, then two weeks later ANOTHER.

The first was through her job lead board, the second was one my friend tagged me in on IG, and the 3 was our lender.

Suddenly, I was working 20-25 hours a week, and making about $2,400=$2,700 a month.

Most importantly I was raising my daughter, and I was enjoying what I did!
